A Walk and Talk with an Outdoor Professional
Workshop Content
A walk and talk with Mike Raine. Mike is the author of Nature of Snowdonia and leads environmental workshops in Snowdonia. Mike has also worked on over 300 Mountain Training courses up to, and including the Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor Qualification. Many of you will know Mike used to be one of the Senior Instructors at Plas y Brenin. This an informal ‘workshop’ where topics will be chatted about as the group demands as we stroll around the Edale skyline. Mike won’t be able to resist conversations around environmental matters. But this is a real opportunity to chat about some of the less technical aspects of our work and sound out some ideas around how we develop the harder skills to define such as leadership, feedback, judgments and decision making in the hills.
This will be a day’s walk from the Hollowford Centre heading north up onto Hollins Cross, round by Mam Tor and Winnats Pass, possibly pausing for a drink in Castleton on the way back to the Centre.
Equipment
You’ll need a packed lunch, an open mind and to be dressed appropriately for a walk of this nature.
