A fundamental skill set of the award from which stems the ability to teach effectively. This day will look at the skills of leading safely and efficiently whilst safeguarding two seconds. The focus will be on personal climbing skills and the guiding of routes, rather than the teaching and coaching of climbing skills. The aim of the day is to look at using efficient techniques and good decision making to produce an effective performance – rather than rushing or just doing things faster. Main areas covered:
Trainees should bring: 50m single rope, climbing gear rack, personal climbing equipment and rock shoes.
If you are a member of the Mountain Training Association (MTA) you will receive 1 CPD point for attending this workshop. Please note that as a trainee member of AMI you are not required to accrue CPD points, therefore this will not count as AMI CPD.
