Leadership Skills for IMLs

10/10/2021 - 10/10/2021

Leysin

Bookings start from £28.00

About

This session develops individual leadership specific to working as an IML including:

• interpersonal skills, conflict management and dealing with uncertainty e.g. managing a nervous or difficult client

• individual resilience and well-being as an IML

• ensuring robust processes such as incident documentation and reporting.

The course will consist of group discussion and practical sessions including the opportunity for role play of simulated scenarios in a supportive feedback environment. Some of the sessions may be held outdoors. This course is ideal any level of IML including those with previous experience of managing difficult situations, those who are starting out their IML career and wish to explore their leadership style, and for those who have had a pause in IML work due to the global pandemic and wish to re-engage. The focus will be on sharing experience and ideas as a collaborative group. As some of the role play scenarios may be outside, participants should wear comfortable outdoor clothing and bring waterproofs, warm layers and boots as they would for any outdoor activity.

For this leadership course we will not be venturing into the mountains so no specific mountain gear is required. Bring a packed lunch and water bottle. Run in collaboration with the IML Steep Ground course, this is the perfect weekend to brush up on personal and practical IML skills.
