Award Description
The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking.

The Lowland Leader qualification has been designed for people who wish to lead groups on day walks in lowland countryside and woodland in summer conditions. Duke of Edinburgh Award, Scouts, Guides, Uniformed leader, FE Tutors, Health Walk Leader, Ramblers, etc.
The majority of the UK and Ireland is made up of this type of terrain so you'll never be short of places to go walking.
Please note this Lowland Leader Assessment course and you need to have attended training or gained exemption. The course is non residential & does not include any form of accommodation.
Alternative Adventure and Outdoor Activities Service will however provide all the relevant map & navigation equipment for each course participant for the duration of the course.

The course is a Mountain Training course so registration is required. You will upon registration gain access to the Digital Logbook on the Candidate Management System so you can log all your activities online. You will need to have logged a minimum of 20 days walking to attend the course.
