BMG Ski Technique Training Course 2022

10/11/12 January 3 days. Sponsored by the Fred Harper* Memorial Fund.

For BMG members cpd 2 points. £75 instruction only.

Rendezvous: Cable Bar, télécabine, Leysin 0845 Monday 10th January. The course aims to finish Wednesday 12th January by 1700.

Accommodation is at Leysin Lodge (just above the télécabine. See Google map) contact convenor Steve Jones: info@stevejones.ch to confirm the exact night’s accommodation required. CHF45.- B&B(tea, coffee, breakfast supplied in self catering chalets). 

Equipment: Day 1. Please bring slalom/carving skis and stiff boots (not fat powder skis and soft touring boots). This will enable quick progress! If you are not sure discuss this with your instructor once we meet. It is possible to rent equipment at Hefti Sports opposite the telecabine at a reduced rate. Shovel Probe and DVA. Helmet recommended.

Costs: The fund does not cover accommodation, travel, ski passes or ski hire. Rescue, medical and cancellation insurance is also at your own responsibility.

*Fred Harper was a British Mountain Guide and past president of the BMG. Retiring from being principal of Glenmore Lodge he worked full time as a guide following his passion for skiing and ski touring. During his time he helped many trainees and aspirant in their journey to become full guides. His memorial trust fund was established so that his good work could continue.
