About

Aim:

To support and upskill the current delivery workforce (Course Directors/training and assessment staff), across the Mountain Training qualification schemes, in the Mountain Training Leadership and Decision Making model and associated competencies.

Prior to course - 

Prior to the course you will be sent a link to an on-line resource, hosted on the MTS Teachable platform, consisting of a 20–30 minute course, to facilitate attendees to think and consider their personal leadership, rather than the theory, allowing them to engage with, and thus benefit more from the workshop. 

This must be completed prior to attending this course.

  2. Pathway to Effective Leadership & Leadership Attributes – what’s it all about? (0930)
  • Introduce infographic models
  • Ethos of how they should support learning & development of leaders
  1. What is Leadership (0945)
  • Open discussion on what effective leadership is and how it is carried out.
  • To explore the importance of the behavioural aspect of leadership.
  • To explore the wide variety of leadership roles and styles.
  • To explore a basic leadership process.
  1. Foundations of Leadership (1015)
  • To explore individual values, beliefs and ethos of leadership.
  • To explore the importance of a personal philosophy of leadership.
  • To discuss MTUK’s philosophy of leadership.
  • To discuss how we can support leaders in developing a sophisticated leadership philosophy and how it will support them.
