This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.
These courses are run under the umbrella of Pete Hill WMCI, one of the UK's foremost and best-known MTS-accredited course providers. Many of our ML courses are directed by either Johannes Peterson WMCI or Dave Chapman WMCI, both highly skilled and experienced MTS-registered directors with a wealth of experience.
Our courses are renowned for being of the highest quality, pitched for the best learning experience combined with a sensitive approach to the teaching of the syllabus. Expect to be learning and not being thrashed around the hills!
