Award Description

This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to lead hillwalking groups in summer conditions on mountainous routes not requiring the planned use of a rope. Established in 1964, this was the first qualification created by Mountain Training.

This 5 day course will be directed by Dave Brown of AcwaTerra, experienced Mountaineering Instructor (MIC) and course director with over 25 years experience training Mountain Leaders.

The course starts on the Monday 11th with the Wednesday to Friday being a 3 day and 2 night mini break including camping.

The course is non-residential leaving you to choose your own standard of accommodation, hopefully somewhere near Llanberis, where we base the course. 
You will only require to book accommodation for the first 2 nights of the course as we are camping for nights 3 &4 of the course.

There's easy parking in Llanberis and just outside and it is within a very short walk of Llanberis should you need anything. The venue of Llanberis provides great access to a variety of venues throughout Snowdonia.
