Award Description

This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on single pitch crags and climbing walls. Common activities undertaken by Rock Climbing Instructor will be roped climbing and bouldering. This scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.

Rock Climbing Instructor Training Course

Welcome to this Roxcool course where you will learn, teach, be inspired, and generally have fun in a positive learning environment.  The tutors are all experienced and enthusiastic climbers and instructors with years (some with too much) of experience.  This course runs over three days and is based The Adventure Hub, Bamford.

• Day one – 0900 to 1730 Climbing Wall
• Day two - 00 to 1800 Crag day
• Day three – 0900 to 1800 Crag day

PLEASE NOTE: The price given is an all-inclusive price and includes: all administration.  Wall entry is to be paid by the individual candidates.

You need to be 18 years of age at the commencement of this course.

• You must be registered on the scheme.
• You must have an up-to-date logbook (preferably DLOG) with evidence of the following:
• 15 led routes which must be graded rock climbs with traditional protection.
• 15 led routes at a climbing wall.
• 5 led routes which must be outdoor bolt protected sport climbs.
