Award Description

The Hill and Moorland Leader award is designed for people who want to lead groups in the hill and moorland areas of the UK and Ireland. This award is a wonderful opportunity to learn the leadership skills required to feel confident about taking people out walking. As you may have guessed from the descriptive title of this award, it focuses on non-mountainous terrain.

The Location:

This course will be based in the Upper Swansea Valley, giving easy access to the best walking areas in the Western Brecon Beacons. It is accessed easily from the M4 and there are a wide range of accommodation options available close by. The area is blessed with a variety of terrain for us to explore including hills, mountain and moors, giving an ideal location to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required by a Hill & Moorland Leader.

Our assessments are run in a supportive and relaxed way to allow you to perform at your best, without any unnecessary pressure. We think you should take away more than just a result from the course and ensure that your assessment is also a valuable learning opportunity as well.  

The People:
