WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
This workshop is for those who hold one of the Mountain Training walking awards, and want to teach navigation as part of what they can offer. We have over 20 years experience of teaching navigation at all levels, right from beginners who have never looked at a map before, through to those who are preparing to go for their Mountain Leader assessment and beyond. We'll focus during the day on those hard to teach subjects such as navigation strategies, contour interpretation, bearings, and distance, but there's time to glean loads more information from Graham Uney, your instructor, throughout the day.
EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED
Outdoor clothing for short sessions outdoors, notebook and pen.
CATERING/FOOD
Tea and Coffee will be provided, but bring your own lunch.
WORKSHOP PROVIDER CREDENTIALS
Graham Uney has been teaching navigation since 1997. He has delivered the NNAS scheme at all levels, including their Tutor Award, although he is no longer involved with the NNAS. Graham is a Course Director for LL, HML, and ML, and also teaches navigation in the winter environment.
