By physically testing our gear placements, our understanding of their quality becomes much more than just theory.
This practical workshop is a day on the crag, finding out how good your placements really are, by weighting, bouncing and falling onto them in a safe, single pitch environment with peers.
It’s an opportunity to indulge your curiosity, go beyond the ‘bomber wire’ and confront the uncertainty about runner quality that we deal with on many trad leads. Safely test marginal placements, microwires, micro cams and advance your judgement in all areas of trad placements.
You will need to bring personal trad climbing kit, single rope and rack.
The workshop will meet at 9am outside Kendal Cimbing Wall before vehicle sharing to a crag in the South/Central Fells.
This workshop is being run by John Kettle, Lakes-based WMCI and Performance Coach, who has been falling off trad routes for over 25 years.
