About

WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES

This 1 day workshop is designed to provide an opportunity for aspirant Mountain Leaders to refresh knowledge, and practice skills, in preperation for attending award assessment. The workshop is also open to qualified ML’s who may wish to recap and avoid skills fade.

We will examine group management, the options available, the decisions to be made, the factors to be considered and practice the skills required, to ensure safe travel through areas of steep and broken ground.

Through demonstration, explanation and attendee practical application, the workshop will provide an understanding of the Mountain Leaders use of a rope, within the remit of the award, for the safeguarding of a group member in descent and ascent, confidence roping and leader safeguarding their own descent.
