Award Description
This qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. The scheme does not include the skills and techniques required to teach lead climbing.
About
The Climbing Wall Instructor qualification trains and assesses candidates in the skills required to supervise climbers on purpose built artificial climbing walls and boulders. It is ideal for people who work at climbing walls or at venues with permanent or mobile climbing towers.
Climbing Wall Instructor training course (formerly the CWA). The training course is two-days long.
The course will be directed by Bryn Williams, a highly experienced climbing and mountaineering instructor, trainer/assessor with bags of enthusiasm about all things climbing!
The course will spend day 1 at Oxford Brookes Uni Climbing Wall. The second day will use Northway Climbing Centre (Newbury) - it's a requirement to visit two diffent climbing walls as part of the training course. Fee includes climbing wall entry on both days.
