OVERVIEW:
This is a course for anybody involved in rigging safety systems in the outdoor environment e.g. Film Crews, Stunt Riggers and Outdoor Instructors. It will cover twin rope systems associated with industrial based structures or outside location work.
The course provides accredited CPD for full AMI members and MTA members and will be a Rescue 3 Safe Working at Height certified course to show competency in twin rope systems. We will also cover some new ideas and figures involved in more complicated rope work.
OBJECTIVES:
You will learn skills to cover complicated rigging systems in the outdoors.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A good knowledge and understanding of basic rope work.
ITINERARY:
Day 1
Workshop 1 - Are you really on belay?
Workshop 2 - Angles. Compression and belay building
Workshop 3 - Ground anchors, stakes, DMM Talon, Trees
Workshop 4 - PPE Inspection, Introduction to Working at Height equipment and terminology and HSE guidelines
Workshop 5 - Use of twin line equipment
Day 2
Workshop 6 - Working at Height equipment, Moving on ropes
Workshop 7 - Rescue of co-workers using twin lines
Workshop 8 - Tensioning ropes, use of high directional anchors
End of Day: Review, summary and paperwork for Rescue 3 certification.
WHAT I NEED:
Warm outdoor wear which is comfortable to climb in - at all times of year e.g.Walking trousers, wicking base layers, fleeces which are comfortable to climb in.
