This is a social 5 mile walk around Swanage with a hint of archaeology/history thrown in, based on the third walk in the book 'Walking in Dorset's Past' http://www.trailguides.co.uk/walking-in-dorset/.
EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED
Personal equipment for walking mostly on country paths with some road walking along both tarmac and dirt roads. There is some walking through open fields. The paths can be treacherous in heavy rain and the winter.
There are no restrictions for dogs on this walk. However there may be livestock in some of the fields so there will be a need for a lead. There is a small amount of road walking along quiet country roads where there is no footpath.
CATERING/FOOD
Square and Compass Pub, Worth Matravers, a historic local pub with a museum of local geology and fossils.
Personal food/drink.
