WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES

A contour and natural features workshop. The day will start with an indoor session where we'll look at just what are contours, how do they appear on the map, and what do we expect to find on the ground when we arrive. 

We'll use simple techniques to make contours easier to understand, and will spend the afternoon outside using a range of maps to better help you to get to grips with interpreting the landscape and relating the map to the ground and vice versa.

EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED

Your regular hillwalking kit, plus Explorer OL5, and a compass.

WORKSHOP PROVIDER CREDENTIALS

Graham Uney is MCI qualified, and Sharon Kennedy is ML and RCI qualified. Graham is a course provider and course director of HML and ML, and Sharon works on most of Graham's courses as a trainer and assessor.

Please let us known immediately if you can't attend. If we can fill your place we'll offer you a transfer onto a later course date.
