Description

Left Glen Brittle at 9am, got the base of the Cinch at 10.30am. A party of three were in front but seemed to be moving okay so wasn`t anticipating too much waiting. Each stance I was waiting at least 45 minutes. If patience is a virtue, I should have been feeling very virtuous! Despite climbing past once we were above the crux and blasting up Cioch Slab Corner we weren`t on top of the Cioch until gone 6pm. Despite that the weather was fab and the midges minimal.

Area : Skye - The Cuillin (Summer)

The Cuillin mountains of Skye are justifiably admired as having the most alpine-like atmosphere of all the ranges of the British Isles, and perched elegantly above the sea they have an especial charm. The traverse of the main ridge is of course a highly prized expedition, but the flanks of the Cuillin contain a very large number of crags of excellent gabbro, offering long multi-pitch climbs throughout the grade range.
