Exploratory deambulation and mountain scrambling/tramping, following the high water map on OS map. Started at Glenuig at 4pm and contoured the coastline to Port Achadh an Aonaich (wild camp). Next day continued south and into the North Channel to just before the narrows (opposite Eilean na h-Oitire). From here inland up rib on NM 646 754, scrambling on heavy undergrowth, and cross country to An Dubh-Lochan and Loch na Bairness. Clockwise around the latter to reach footpath below Cruach na Bairness. Back to Glenuig for 4pm. Tough going on wild and at times very steep, overgrown terrain. Map + navigation.
