Description

Bedford Girls School.
My first DofE expedition as the assessor. Supervised 1 group, assessed 3.
Llanberis YHA to Capel Curig.
2 x groups easily passed. 3rd was a very borderline decision made because the weather on the last day was so bad. Even an experienced instructor found nav on the hills difficult due to the reduced vis.

Area : Glyderau

The Glyderau (a Welsh plural form, also known in English as the Glyders) are a mountain group in Snowdonia, North Wales. The name derives from the highest peaks in the range, Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. According to Sir Ifor Williams, the word "Glyder" derives from the Welsh word "Cludair", meaning a heap of stones.
