Description

08.30 - 17.00, 14.5km, 750m.
Freezing level 650m, strong winds on tops, snow showers in afternoon becoming more frequent. 6 Reaseheath students. Car Park Glen Banchor, track/path east side of Allt a Chaorainn to snow field below Carn Sgulain (GR 690053) where we snow holed. Carn Sgulain, A Chailleach, Red Bothy, bridge GR 691013, car park. Went looking for suitable snowfields to build snow holes and also do a ‘real’ mountain day without the advantages of a ski road! Good conditions for navigation with a mixture of blue skies with scudding clouds, and spells of heavy snow showers creating near white out conditions.
