Description

09.00 - 16.00, 8km, 670m. Parc des Ecrins, Southern Alps, France.
Clear blue sky, light winds. 2 families (Nicky, Matthew (7), Ellen (5) & myself) (Sid, Ben(8), Tristian(6) & Tim). Refuge Cezanne to Glacier Blanc and back. We made sure that we started early to make the most of the cool morning on the way up. Kids were great – no moans, just great little walkers. Saw marmots. Lunched near the glacier before fording the icy waters and go back down. The sound of the boulders in the river – awesome. Matthew overheated on the way down so I soaked his sun hat in some melt water.
