09.30 - 16.45, 20.5km, 1320m. Garbat, Northern Highlands.
Broken high cloud with strong, westerly winds, frequent squalls with heavy snow showers, winds gusting gale force. Eight adults and one dog, with Graham Reed leading (some of cousin Sue’s friends). Garbat, AlIt a’ Bhealaich Mhoir, An Cabar, Glas Leathad Mor, Glas Leathad Beag, Tan a’ Choinnich, Alit na Bana-mhorair. Garbage. Left main group after Glas Leathad Mor to skirt round Tan a’ Choinnich to Glas Leathad Beag.

Area : Loch Broom to Easter Ross

North and east of the A835 is the area from Loch Broom to Easter Ross. This road is also the main access point for walking and climbing in the area which contains seven Munros, the highest being Beinn Dearg (1084m). The Ben Wyvis ridge stretches from southwest to northeast from the road towards Loch Glass. Mountains south of Ben Wyvis are in the Glen Cannich to Glen Carron area, whilst those to the west are in the Loch Maree to Loch Broom area.
