Description

20km, 1320m. Lake District.
Very hot and sunny with little wind. Tim Rhys and myself. High Close YH to Black Sail YH, via Eleterwater, Chapel Stile, Mickleden, Angle Tarn, Sty Head, Great Gable, Windy Gap. Part of a planned three week holiday, but the distances planned were too great. Had started at Settle, stayed at Ingleton YH, and hitched some of the way. Going down with flue was probably a very lucky escape!

Area : Central Fells

The Vale of Keswick, provides separation from the Northern Fells whilst to the west runs the long valley of Borrowdale. The parallel eastern boundary is created by Thirlmere and the St Johns in the Vale. Grasmere to Windermere forms the remainder of the eastern boundary. In the west, Stake Pass descends into Great Langdale.
