
Ascent of Snowdon from Nantgwynant via Watkin path with descent via the miner's track to pen-y-pass (linked to make circular route. Walk leader for a novice group from the UEA Fell & Mountain Soc, novice group of 5, included international students new to UK walking. A very positive day with everyone pleased to summit dispite poor visibility, high winds and rain during the last 100-200 metres of ascent, support given to two walkers with confidence and walking technique over some terrain

Snowdon (Welsh: Yr Wyddfa) is the highest mountain in Wales, at an altitude of 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level, and the highest point in the British Isles outside Scotland. It is located in Snowdonia National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri) in Gwynedd, and has been described as "the busiest mountain in Britain". It is designated as a national nature reserve for its rare flora and fauna.
