Ascent of Snowdon from Pen-y-pass and the miner's track via the less challenging half of the Snowden horseshoe, acsending the ridge south of Llyn Llydaw and following the ridge to join the Watkin path with descent via the Pyg Track. Walk leader for a novice group from the UEA Fell & Mountain Soc, novice group, included international students new to UK walking. A very poor visibility in the last 100-200 metres of ascent, with blustery winds providing good illustration of how much conditions can vary within one hill day. Responsible for navigation, including during poor visibility, also confidence spotted one novice on some trickier terrain and provided support in gaining confidence in traversing rougher terrain. This was my first ascent of Snowden.
