Description

12.5km, 830m. 09.00 - 17.00. Duddon Valley, Lake District.
Froth Pot car park, Seathwaite Tarn, Grey Friar, Great Carrs, Swirl How, Calf Cove and Tarn Head Beck to Seathwaite Tarn and back to the car park.
This was a wonderful day out with Tim and Sid. The views were stunning. We could clearly see each of the Yorkshire three peaks, the Isle of Man and Scotland on the other side of the Soleway Firth. Been planning for Nicky and I to get out with Tim and Sid in the Lakes for ages, and finally we managed to make it happen.

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

The Southern Fells Include Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England, occupy a broad area to the south of Great Langdale, Borrowdale and Wasdale. High and rocky towards the centre of the Lake District, the Southern Fells progressively take on a moorland character toward the south west. In the south east are the well known Furness Fells, their heavily quarried flanks rising above Coniston Water.
