Description

20.5km, 1210m. 08.10-17.20. Assynt, North West Highlands.
Carpark Inchnadamp, followed river Traligill and Allt á Chine` Mhill to hanging corrie GR297209, headed west to col and north ridge of Conical 11.45, east along ridge to Ben More Assynt 13.15, to south west top and Càrn nan Conbhairean. South west until we could head north to outlet Dubh-Loch Mòr 15.00. west to Am Bealach and beach Trallgil before heading north west to join our inbound route.
Cloud base 600m morning rising to 800m afternoon. Snow from 400m.
Two degree students from Reaseheath College. The south-east ridge from Ben More Assynt needed care in a couple of places, I was glad I was with some competent students! Had a look at where the River Traligill disappears underground on the way back. A good day a little marred by the cartilage playing up in my left knee.
