Description

Wild camping around Glen Etive. We set off with my mission being finally to get up Stob Ghabhar after two failed attempts. My companion wanted to get up both. So we walked up from Victoria Bridge off Bridge of Orchy, and walked up the good track to Beinn Toaig (834m) and up onto Stob a'Choire Odhair. Back at the col we started up the extremely steep path onto Stob Gharbhar and back down the gentle slopes of Coire na Muic to the track.

Area : Glen Etive to Glen Lochy

This is the area south of Buachaille Etive Mor as far as the A85 (Tyndrum to Oban road). It includes the peaks around the Glencoe Ski Centre (Creise and Meall a’Bhuiridh) alongside eleven other Munros and many other peaks above 600m. Highlights such as Ben Cruachan (1126m) and Stob Ghabhar (1090) remind all-comers that this is an area of high mountains and low glens.
