Description

The Sunday after the AMI AGM. Feeling a little worse for wear I headed out for a leg stretch. The weather at the Coire Cas Car park was miserable, warm and raining. Still, one must perciver in winter. We headed out to go to the Chalamain gp and the two hilss above (Creag a` Chalamain and Castle Hill). Some nice nav and pacing practice but the weather really was un pleasant. After ticking off the two summits we headed back to the car and complete change of clothing.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
