Walking up Arenig Fawr today with my brother Drew and my Dad! š
On a good day, you should be able to see all of the high Mountains that Snowdonia National Park has to offer from the top 845M, but today was a little cloudy.
Arenig Fawrs' name actually relates to a time interval millions of years ago due to the different types of rock on the mountain and how it all formed and got there. Not because the mountain is shaped like a large kidney. Iām especially impressed with all of the volcanic rock that can be found on the mountain.
For a circuit of 13km and Ascent of 658 meters, it is a respectable route that can be tackled in 3.5 hours but worth giving plenty of leeway time. Would advise to anyone practicing Navigation.
And as you can see there is a Plaque in the summit shelter bearing the names of the Crew that were killed in the aircraft crash August 1948.

Ofter refered to as Arenigs, which is an informal term for a group of mountains in central Snowdonia, in north Wales.
