Personal climbing session with Sophie, Matt and his friend Kim.
We had a lovely time - nothing too tough after yesterdays climbing.
However Matt and I were trying some of the routes set out for the recent competition and having some fun. A particular yellow graded route became very popular after I completed it and then helped (coached) Matt to complete it by working on his technique of using the 'half ball' sloper. This was great fun for me and Matt really enjoyed getting into it and finally completing the climb. What really made my day was that a random chap approached after watching us and wanted to give it a go, saying that he was interested in working on the slopers. I agreed and coached him on foot placement and use of the sloper with differing body positions, and also giving him some ideas of when to 'step through' etc.
It gathered a small crown and I was quite amazed that people were listening to me teach!!
After this I successfully completed a green graded route, my first proper completion. I flashed it as well which was great to have achieved! The holds were nearly all flat tops or slopers which i usually would stay away from. But this marked my progression which was nice to see.
