A quick trip into Kendal to look at lead climbing. Assisting an MIA with a small group, intensive session.
Had to really hammer home starting to pull up from the knot with one student who kept trying to z-clip. And teeth - they all wanted to hold the rope in their teeth! I think in future if I were running the session I would include more progression, including some floor clipping exercises. I might also, given the small size of group, have someone belay me up the route next to them so I could talk to them directly rather than having to shout and gesture up the wall at them.
