Looking at the route it doesn't look too impressive a linear basic path heading up just 1 mountain.
Now imagine you've just completed the second day of extreme hillbagging, its 6 pm and everyone else is tucking into a curry at the pub. Although your adventure thirst is still unquenched.
You've just rushed off your feet getting as much food as possible and asking people to join you and David Woodward, and the Famous Idol JMF (James Michael Forrest) offers to join you later on.
Leaving the campsite at 7 pm with tired legs meant a slow ascent with David Woodward, this is where the brotherhood, the bromance and banter started.
Halfway up thinking JMF had bailed, we look back briefly to appreciate the remainder of sunlight and we see the majestic Mountain Man himself rock up, I was shaken up and it made my life being joined by such a legend.
Arrival at the top we ate bivvied and had the best time ever just doing a mountaintop photoshoot.
The next morning the views were beautiful and I had the best sleep ever, I woke up at about 4.30 to the most amazing sunrise I've ever seen.
This experience was like no other and I recommend anyone to try wild camping or bivvying on a mountaintop.
Area :
Western Fells
The Western Fells form the southern wall of the Buttermere valley and the northern fence of Wasdale. Between the two lies Ennerdale so that in effect the group is the shape of a single horseshoe, each branch about 10 miles in length.
At the head of Ennerdale stands Great Gable. The southern arc of the group travels due west from Great Gable, the main ridge consisting of Kirk Fell, Pillar, Scoat Fell, Haycock and Caw Fell.
