I had posted Beinn Luibhean and Beinn Ime as a Meetup event. 12 people went. There were some strong and fit walkers in the group, and two of them immediately sprinted off from Glen Croe in the wrong direction, heading up along the wrong side of the river. Everyone tried to call them back, but they didn't listen and in the end they had to walk down the embankment and up the other side.
There were also a couple of very slow walkers, and I hung back to wait for them, as they were constantly falling out of view. Managing the different paces in the group was quite tricky, but things improved when one of the fitter walkers offered to be the "back marker" with the slower ones.
After that we made our way to Beinn Ime. I warned the group that the direct route straight up over the rocks might not be as fast as it looked, because you might have to go up and down a bit before reaching the summit. However most people took the direct route anyway and we all reached the summit in good time. The slow couple decided to go back via the much longer Cobbler path, but the rest of the group returned via the path to Glen Croe.
Area :
Inveraray to Crianlarich (Ben Lui)
From the Arrochar Alps to Ben Lui, this area is home to nine Munros. Half of the peaks in the area are within the boundaries of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, while the others lie to the west. The three summits of The Cobbler (884m) contain some of the best climbing in the Southern Highlands while Ben Lui in winter looks positively Alpine. Access is relatively straightforward from the A83, A82 or A85.
