5 day winter skills course for CAG
D1 - Nav day - Very windy so naved from hayfield to kidney Lochan then down via road and track back to v=car
D2 - Snowcraft - patchy snow in Lurchers Gully journeying from between patched and developing skills at each one
D3 - Develop snowcaft - Ascend Ciste Gully onto Cairngorme Summit and down 1141m
D4 - Student planned day - Up Lochan ridge, naved to west end of Chalamain gap and back to Cas car park
D5 - Wash up - nav session on Craigellachhie

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
