Description

7.6km + 880m. Stickle Barn, Great Langdale.
After a lie in and cooked breakfast it wasn't an early start (10ish). It was stunning weather and easy walking from Stickle Barn up to Loft Crag and Pike O' Stickle. I added a bit of spice with more direct ascents. Bit of work across the deeper snow to Thunacar Knott but we were able to follow someones steps most of the way. Coming down the path along the upper section of Dungeon Ghyll I chopped some steps in the compacted snow, not wanting anyone to slip here. A fab day out with Nicky, Tim and Sid, and Sapphie and Barra. Part of an even better weekend staying at Hodge Close.

Area : Central Fells

South of the A66 and east of the Hardknott Pass as far east as the Kirkstone Pass
