Sea kayak 8.2km, 15km + 1190m, sea kayak 8.2km. Loch Mullardoch, Cannich.
Bit of a late start due to a need for sleep, set off at 8.25am. Got to GR140313 where I left the sea kayak and organised to start walking (09.40) east along the loch shore to find the start of the poor stalkers path which I followed through snow higher up to reach the Coire Bog (11.45). A herd of hinds initially didn't spot me and were lying in the snow. After working through the peat hags I eventually reached Braigh a' Choire Bhig (12.35) before heading up and contouring round to the short ridge leading out to Creag a' Chaorainn (13.35). Sgùrr nan Clachan Geala was soon reached (13.55) and Sgurr na Lapaich (14.35). I then had Rubha nan Each (14.55) and back. By now the stunning clear day was giving way to cloud and mist. By the time I was down to Beach Toll an Lochain, where I met a group who had got the 'ferry' in, it was gone 4pm so I decided that discretion was called for if I didn't want to walk and sea kayak out in the dark. I got back to the boat (17.20) and enjoyed the paddle out, spotting some wild goats on the way. Very frustrating that I didn't manage more.
It was definitely a day of two halves; clear and sunny in the morning with little wind, deteriorating to clag, and light snow as the afternoon wore on. The next day was foul, snow and wind so I had a rest day.
