Description

Tryfan via north ridge descent south to Bwich Tryfan, Glyder Fach via path (east side of bristly ridge) then south west across the plateau to Glyder Fawr then north west, north east to the steps down to the low path to Cwm Idwal from there back to Ogwen Cottage.
Wet snow between 400M & 500M on Tryfan, Firm snow and some patches of ice between 500M and Summit. Ice Axe, Helmet and Crampons used from 500M.
Good covering of firm snow from summit down south ridge to Bwich Tryfan, then excellent winter conditions from there to summit of Glyder Fach - well compacted snow and some ice above 700M. Good covering of snow on the plateau, excellent conditions from the summit of Glyder Fawr to around 650M where the snow started to get soft.
Steps down to Cwm Idwal very icy in places. Walking Poles, Helmet and Crampons used from summit of Tryfan to Cwm Idwal.
