Description

10km + 1040m. Slioch, Kinlochewe.
Carpark GR001650, canoed across to the the side of Loch Maree GR007658. Followed the path into Coire na Sleaghaich and up to the lochan at GR011681, and onto the trig point and summit. A brief celebration to celebrate my final Munro, before heading off to Sgurr an Tuill Bhain to complete the trio of Munros, tops and deleted summits. It didn't take to long to retrace our steps back to the boats and across the loch in the rain. It is a strange feeling to have arrived at the end of this journey, I now need to consider where the next one will take me!

Area : Loch Maree to Loch Broom and The Fannaichs

This area contains four main sub-regions: An Teallach, The Fannaichs, Kinlochewe & Letterewe. The highest Munro is Sgurr Mor, part of The Fannaichs range, at a height of 1110m. The impressive Slioch (981m), although not the tallest, is described by the SMC Munros Guide as being ‘one of the great sights of the Northern Highlands’ and well worth a visit. This area sits to the north of the A832 and is almost completely devoid of human habitation.
