Description

another beautiful cold morning
start great langdale heading up the band
split from main path to find the climbers traverse
here we do crampons /ice axes
meeting the boulder field below great slab we skirt the edge for the rocks
up the snow n ice covered slab
to the summit of bowfell
from here we descend and jion the crinkle crags
the cloud closes in an we are in a white out
we reach gunson knott(we think)
visability poor so we reverse our route(after trying to relocate)
cloud clears so we watch the sunset from below bowfell that retreat down the band in the dark

Area : Southern Fells (Scafell Pike)

From the Esk Valley all the way across to Kendal and the M6. Includes Coniston area as far north as Little Langdale, Wrynose and Hardknott Pass.
