Relaxed climb taking a friend (ML) down to Bosigren. Frustratingly on way down to black slab friend sprained ankle after downstep. Was unable to be moved so co-ordinated with Coastguard to lift him up and out. Area commander attended stated my prelim notes were most effective he had seen in a long time. Was using a SAM Splint donated by a passing climber to immobilise the ankle joint. After ML had been to various DR's feedback came back I was correct in my prelim notes.
Annoying as I had wanted to climb black slab / door post / little brown jug before going down to Sennen in the evening to go climbing. Good to have a practise of working with Coastguard. Had to setup static lines to get ML across to an uncompromising position for stretcher.
Overall, a good experience in case a serious emergency does occur. I was commended on my calm demeanour and note taking as well as various other checks
