WTF day 2
clients see day 1
on the path up one client was struggling with tires legs and naseua due to a late night,
We headed down to bamfod wall for a recap and an in series lead, client with nasuea said it had passed and was feeling better but not up for leading today
client one moved verywell placing good gear on bamfor buttress and really enjoyed the climb, proceeding to rebuild the anchor as her own and belay from the top.
another group arrived so we headed back towards gunpowder buttress to look at some easy leads
client with nausea was struggling to remove the gear so we went for some easier shorter climbs allowing the other client to lead.
Adjecent slab was idea as none of the moves were stressfull and I could use the decent route to witness any gear placements. this was a great opportunity to look at cams as we had mainly used nuts upto now . A quick refress on good versus poor cam placement and the lead went well.
we used the top to look at common anchor building problems and how to thread a rope around a boulder using a bowline to tie it.
I realised a little late that I couldve gotten the belayer who was on belay still to help with this!!!
As soon as she topped out I took the opportunity to run through what we had done, and moved on to allow her an opportunity to lead somehing as she had noticed ammo crack and wanted a go on the steady short corner.
She lead this well but was distracted by a drone at half hieght, next time I would rather call her down unitl it has left.
The more confident leader then wanted to return to do a live lead of bamford wall, I self lined next to her to allow me to assist with any placements, but the lead went amazing and the client was really proud of the climb.. my selfline moved an inch i could've done with setting it up a foot further to the right in a better notch.
the other client said she was too tired to climb but wanted to practice abseinling as an independent climber.. so we wrapped up looking at how to do this with them both building an abseil. this went really well and bamford wall allowed me to view thier abseiling in 2 stages before going live.
