Tete de la Sallaz from Romme.
Climb up from the lovely village of Romme. Easy walking through forest up to Chalet des Vaudes. Fresh snow above the village. Lots of tracks by fox, deer and rabbit. There were a couple of scrapes in the snow that had been used by ptarmigan leaving obvious foot prints and wing feather prints as they took flight (really cool). Above tree line wind slab and freeze thaw patches of ice. High winds leading to clouds of spin drift and cross loading there were some areas of instability. Great views across to Mt. Blanc. Return same route.
