Description

Tow-day solo walk from Cairn Gorm car park via Goat Track to Loch Avon. Over to Etchachan Hut then over spur to Loch Coire Sputan Dearg. Contoured round back wall to Sron Riach and so down to Corrour bothy overnight. Slow start to let mist clear, up and over Cairn Coire an t-Saighdeir 1213, Cairn Toul, Sgor an Lochan Uaine, falls of Dee, Braeriach, Sron na Lairig, Chalamain Gap and back up Allt Mor to Car Park.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
