Spent the day supporting debbie (aspirant HML) and Leigh (aspirant ML) in a circular walk from Pengenfford, up to waun Fach and back.
We covered a basic route plan to keep it simple, and discussed some options for the end half of the route to ensure we didn't have to walk along a busy road.
Whilst on the walk we covered some basic geology of the surrounding terrain, plant ID along with some stories, and conservation efforts in the local area.
We also found ourselves away from any marked paths, so came up with a new route plan, which enabled us to cover some good Nav' points, and also negotiation steep ground to get back onto a suitable route.

Black Mountains
The Black Mountains (Welsh: Y Mynyddoedd Duon) are a group of hills spread across parts of Powys and Monmouthshire in southeast Wales, and extending across the national border into Herefordshire, England. They are the easternmost of the four ranges of hills that comprise the Brecon Beacons National Park, and are frequently confused with the westernmost, which is known as the Black Mountain. To confuse matters further, there is a peak in the Black Mountains called Black Mountain.
