Me in leadership of 15 young people and 2 adults
Starting from YHA Castleton we headed straight up Lose Hill to then walk along the Great Ridge. From Mam Tor we descended to windy knoll and then over past Oxlow Farm. Through the fields to finally descend into Cave Dale and then into Castleton. From here they navigated back to the hostel.

Area : Dark Peak

Is situated between Sheffield and Manchester. The underlying rock is Millstone grit which is often exposed at the edge of the higher peat bogs for which the area is famous.
