Description

One of my most enjoyable hill days ever. I went with a Meetup group, and we ascended from Glen Etive, up Sron na Creise, the north face of Creise. From there we climbed Meall a' Bhuiridh, and myself and another person walked to Clath Leathad.
The scrambling was just brilliant. I loved the way you could choose your own level of scramble, and I was able to try out the most difficult scrambling I had ever done to date (probably high grade 2). There was a young Californian woman with us, an experienced outdoor climber, who was certainly doing some Grade 3 stuff, which I tried and retreated. Some group members preferred to walk up the path. There was something for everyone.

Area : Glen Etive to Glen Lochy

This is the area south of Buachaille Etive Mor as far as the A85 (Tyndrum to Oban road). It includes the peaks around the Glencoe Ski Centre (Creise and Meall a’Bhuiridh) alongside eleven other Munros and many other peaks above 600m. Highlights such as Ben Cruachan (1126m) and Stob Ghabhar (1090) remind all-comers that this is an area of high mountains and low glens.
