Description

Castleton covering Mam Tor, Back Tor and Loose Hill. Had a friend with me with no experience so I was leading him around the walk

Planning
- Planning was done very well, route, timings in good detail making the walk a lot easier once there.
- Advised my mate what he needed to take with him and the sort of clothing to wear.

Navigation
- Perfectly navigated the route except on minor bit where it looked like we should have come back on ourselves on the descent but was actually straight down. This would have been prevented with a bearing. Lesson learned.

Weather and ground conditions
- Weather was very warm but very gusty on top of mam tor. So care was taken whilst up on the hill.
- Groud conditions were fine no real thought taken here.

Area : Derbyshire
