Description

Working with a 1:1 client delivering a mountain day out in the Cairngorms. We walked into Coire an t-Sneachda before briefly ascending the a short section of snow at the base of 'Aladdin's Mirror' (I), to access base of 'Pygmy Ridge' (Mod). We ascended this and continued over the summit of Stob Coire an t-Sneachda before descending the Mess of Pottage descent. We ascended Jacob's Ladder (I) and continued round onto the summit of Cairngorm, returning to the car park via '1141'.

Area : The Cairngorms

The Cairngorms are ‘a little piece of the arctic in Scotland’ according to the SMC Munros Guide and the area contains many of the tallest peaks in the East Highlands. Ben Macdui (1309m), Cairn Gorm (1244m) and Braeriach (1296) are probably three of the better known and the whole area is full of steep corries and high plateaux. Access to the mountains is typically from Aviemore or Braemar.
